Bamboo is an effective way of managing watersheds.
Adaro Ignites Life aims to minimize the environmental impacts of the mining activities, through consistent management and monitoring of the environment. Among the activities is a program called On-site Waste Processing Technology (TOSS), which refers to the processing of organic waste into organic waste pellets, to be used as a material for co-firing of the Adaro Group’s power plants. In the trial phase in 2021, as much as 3,000 kg waste was converted into 1,000 kg organic waste pellets, which can be used as a renewable energy source.
This program is expected to serve as a solution for waste processing and utilization, especially the organic waste in Tabalong regency, and to help to reduce carbon emission through utilization as biofuel, which can be used to fuel power plants together with coal.
